These photos were taken when I took my friend to his daughter's at Onamia. They live on an acreage and raise a few cattle. It was a foggy, drizzly day so the photos aren't the best. But I wanted to show you the unique fence posts they have. The area is very rocky so they put the rocks to good use as fence posts and they are huge.

Thanks for stopping and have a great day.
Praying for all those affected by Sandy

Most creative fence post I've ever seen!

What a smart farmer is right.
Love your shots.
A brilliant idea!
A great idea! It looks good too!
Smart idea to use the rocks. I love your photos.
I guess those fence posts will last forever!
Very unique! And clever to use the rocks.
Fence posts that never rot!
Very clever idea! Love the cows posing for you. They are such trusting creatures. So glad you shared these Barb. It was nice seeing something out of the ordinary.
hey, that is pretty cool. how creative. new to me. i learn something every day. enjoy your evening. (:
I love it...some folks are so resourceful!
I have been wanting to do that with rocks...
I've never seen fence posts like that! Apparently they have a lot of fairly small rocks. Interesting.
Well the nice thing about rock fences is that they aren't going any where. 200 years later, it will still be there (if you check out my post, you'll see. LOL) Funny we posted a similar thing. Kind regards.
How creative and useful!
Rocks like it are landmarks and nice decoration. Sweet "meow meow".
Indeed...I have NEVER in all my 60 plus years seen anything like it before.
I love these rural photos, Barb. I think those are the most amazing fence posts I have ever seen. Love how they used what was on their acreage.
Hugs,
Laura
Those people sure know what recycling means. I have never seen fences like this...great captures.
Fabulous fence posts! Love the cow too!
Hi Barb!
What fun to see these fence posts!
We have a lot of fence posts like that around here, too.
We are at the base of the mountains, and our soil is so rocky!
We have quite a few stacked stone fences, and rock filled cattle- panel posts :)
Thanks for sharing..
Have a great weekend

I have seen many fence posts in my day, but this is a firt for me. Thanks for sharing!
I have seen rocks/stones used in this way before--but only in photos. In KY we build dry stone walls out of field stones. Just another example of using what's available to the best advantage. A quality that rural people certainly have.
You're not kidding, they are huge! Good way to make use of the rock =)
i've seen that done with rocks before somewhere, but can't place it! love the photos of the cows :)
Nothing wrong with your photos. Cattle can be smelly but cute. What a neat idea for fence post. I'm sure the rocks needed to be cleared and what a great way to re-purpose them.
It's a great idea! That fence is immoveable!
Fascinating fence posts!
I would love to have these rocks for a rock garden -- Nebraska is not know for its rocks. Lol.
Dearest Barb,

What an ingenious way to store rocks.
