Abandoned Barns

A couple of weeks ago on a cloudy, dreary day I had to run an errand in a nearby townWhile I was there I decided to take a little drive and see what I could find.  On the edge of town I found this old abandoned barn and house.

I drove out of town a couple of miles and found this old tumbling down barn with a shed that was already on the ground.

These are my barn pics for this weeks Barn Charm.  You can see barns of all sizes, shapes, colors, and conditions here.

Barn Charm

This is another barn I found while at my daughter's.  It is near where the big white barn was that I showed a few posts ago.  I think they board horses here.

If you like seeing barns go to Barn Charm at Bluff Area Daily

Have a good week everyone.

Until next time.

And the Winner Is

Before I announce the winner of my note card giveaway, I want to show you how the leaves on my Schwedler Maple tree are progressing.   A couple of weeks ago I showed you this picture of the buds on the tree.

This is what they looked like yesterday with the sun shining on them.  Before long they will change from this burgundy color to green.   In the fall they will change to yellow.

Now for the winner.  Random generator picked number 11, Mari of 365 Days.  Congratulation Mari!  Please email me your address so I can get the cards out to you.

Thanks to everybody who entered!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Until next time.

Wyoming Fences

Here are more fences from my trip to Wyoming.

The next two were taken at a little chapel called The  Episcopal Chapel of the Transfiguration with the Teton Mountains in the background.

Octagon Barn

On the way to my daughter's near the Twin Cities is this octagon barn, but you can only see the roof from the road.   I've known about it for years, but never had the nerve to drive up the driveway.  The last time I went to my daughter's I noticed that there was no mail box at the driveway.  So on the way home, I got up enough nerve to drive in, snap a couple of pictures, and leave.

To my surprise, there was a little octagon shed as well.

Spring Beauty

Yesterday started out rainy and drizzly.  Later in the afternoon there was a tornado warning for our county.  A tornado did touch down a few miles from my daughter, but no damage was reported.

In between, there wasn't a lot of sun but it was a nice day.  I always go over to visit my mom on Sunday afternoons.  I took my camera because I knew the crabapple trees were in bloom there.  I walked around the building to take these pictures.  The only edits are resizing and addition of my name.

Mom has the best view from her apartment.  Better than anyone else.  Here are pictures from her second story windows.

I hope everyone was safe from the storms yesterday.  Today is cold and windy here.  I hope the wind doesn't blow off all those beautiful blossoms.  Glad I took the pictures yesterday.

Giveaway still going on here.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy  your week.

Until next time

Sunkist Arborvitae

Today started out bright and sunny after a rainy day yesterday.  But by early afternoon it was cloudy again and we might get more rain tonight.  That's okay because we really need it.  Just so it doesn't storm.

While the sun was still shining I took a couple pictures of my Sunkist Arborvitae, which was a freebie about  3 years ago.  My daughter knew someone that worked at a nursery and they were going to throw it in the trash at the end of the season.  It seems to thrive where I planted it next to the front door.

A little robin seemed to be enjoying the sun too.

This picture of the yellow finch isn't very good.  But I was just happy to get a picture.  I took it through the screen of my kitchen window and the feeder is way out in the back yard.

By the time I walked across the street to photograph my neighbors tree it was cloudy.  I'm not sure what kind of tree it is, but it sure is pretty.

I hope you had a sunshiny day.  I know there are storms across OK, KS NE, and IA.  I hope everyone is safe.
