Cold Winter Sunlight

The other day when it was not quite so cold I took a little drive to get a photo of this country church south of Walnut Grove.  It was sitting in the snow with some cold winter sunlight shining on it.

Sharing with Karen at My Little Home and Garden for Sunlit Sunday and Beth and Sally at inSPIREd Sunday.

I hope wherever you are it is warmer than here.  But if you live in the Upper Midwest it could be even colder.

Have a great Sunday and stay warm
Until next time
Barb

I like the white with the pale blue sky - it does look chilly. Into minus digits here in Breckenridge. My son went skiing, but I am by the fire with the Grands!

It looks like you took this photo on a beautiful winter day. The white church echoes the freshness of the white snow and both sparkle in the sunshine.

Thank you for joining in with Sunlit Sunday this week, Barb!

We have a heat wave right now at 30 degrees, and snowing all morning now. Going into the deep freeze tomorrow. I love white buildings in the snow, and this church is awesome. Thanks for sharing Barb Janice

white is my favourite colour/non colour so anything white wins my heart easily, this is a smart and very pretty church. I do not envy that cold weather snap going on over there!

Very pretty. That thin light does look cold. I am sitting in some warm sunshine and can hardly believe that I can tell the difference. Quite lovely and cheering. It's 18F today and there's an ice storm coming. Needless to say, we would rather it would be snow.

A quaint country church that looks welcoming with the sun streaming down on it.

Happy New Year to you from Marit.

I'm fascinated by old churches -- all the history and different architecture. This is lovely in all the snow. Happy New Year!

Extraordinary photos! Reminds me of the pictures from the old Ideals magazines that included poetry etc.
Stay safe and warm.

Very pretty! We are just a bit below zero, but it's supposed to get colder, we shall see if it does. Stay warm yourself ;)

I like both of these but the hint of the sunlight in the first is lovely coming through the trees!
We are expecting some cold temps here in WV. They say wind chills way below zero.
I lot of us will need to be watchful and keep warm. :)

Very pretty. I love white churches in winter.
Is it a Lutheran church, by chance?
It looks it. :)

Beautiful shot for sunlit sunday. The churches look so cold and lonely when you drive by and no one is in the parking lot. We are heading to warmer weather. Take care

Pretty pictures of this church Barb. We are all getting this terrible cold snap aren't we? I can't wait for it to be over although we're getting a break today with very mild temperatures and rain. It will be a quick break though. :( Take care!

Hi Barb, this church is gorgeous surrounded by snow. You captured it so well with your camera. I just love a white church.
Yes, we are very cold even way down here in Texas and woke to 16 degrees this morning. Not used to this!!
Stay warm and be safe.
Wishing you all the best in the new year my friend.

I love churches in the snow. I am sitting in front of the sunny window pretending it is summer. No way am I sticking even my big toe out the door today or tomorrow. xo Laura

Beautiful photos! Actually, I believe we are warmer here in Alaska than you are. We've been in the low 20s the last few days, plus no wind, so we're feeling quite warm. I think our -40s we had at Christmas moved on down your way.

Dearest Barb;
I wish you had a Happy Sunday and staying warm♬♬♬ Lovely scene with the snow, though.
Oh My!!! Walnut Grove is the name really reminiscent for me. I avidly watched the TV drama "little house in the prairie" with the bilingual TV (my first one is about more than 20years ago, haha) and tried to improve hearing ability. I think there must be a museum, how I wish to visit♪♪♪

Sending you lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*

That is a beautiful little church...it was between 8 and 12 below all day yesterday, and was 1l below this morn when I got up but did eventually get up to 10 degrees above.

Glad we dont have all that snow the cold temps are more than enough lol.

hey Barb! Thanks for the nice words! Yes I was bundled up but didn't want to take the pics outside.

Yes, winter sunlight is tricky and a bit deceiving around here. I'm constantly needing to know the actual temperature because of just that reason.

Thank you for your visit!♥
