This old barn, shed, and chicken coop have sat at the bottom of the hill near the Cottonwood River for as long as I can remember. It looks like new doors have been put on the barn and a new roof on the chicken coop at some time. I've never seen a house there.
I used to play down at this river when I was a kid.

Oh thank you Barb, for the Birthday greetings!
You also have a great week, my dear!
Love all the different views of things...wish we could always get to take them.
Playing at the river...how many kids get to do that now? I used to ride my bike on the train tracks by the river. Which was nuts.
lol...as always with this type of barn, I see a face, but this time, the doors look like buck teeth. Crazy me!
The barn looks just like the one on the family farm...including the 'funky' new doors.
I grew up playing in the river which bordered the family farm; such happy memories. Fortunately my daughter was able to do so as well; we both miss it terribly.
What a beautiful setting! I'm so happy they have been fixing the barn up a bit.
These are really nice, I. Such a lovely setting. I always wonder a little about barns where I don't see a house nearby - who is using that barn?
What a pretty spot! The door slides on this barn are different than I've seen before.
interesting shots Barb' and the grass is brown from the cold/frosts/snow of winter?? It will green up again for the summer?
great finds barb!! you must have lot's, i am a barn picture hoarder, i only share one at a time so i never run out!!
these here are all beautiful, with great lines and nice weathered wood!!
These are great! I like the chicken coop!
glad it is still there and being utilized. that is a serious door slide guide! :)
i spent HOURS of my youth playing along mill creek in wisconsin near my childhood home. would disappear all day and only show up for meal time (knowing my father's rules about that).
I wonder what the story is behind these buildings and the land, given there isn't a house.
Those old buildings have a story to tell, that is for sure.
That was a beautiful farmstead at one time. Thanks for sharing!
Que lindo e passa uma grande PAZ tuas fotos e lugar! beijos, chica
It's a good looking barn and still appears to be in decent shape! I like the shape of the roof!
How nice to see that at least some barns are being taken care of. You've chosen some photogenic barns for this week's Barn charm
Charming! I love old barns like this.
A very cool barn. I wonder who uses it although the chicken house, even with a new roof it looks a bit dilapidated. MB
Hi Barb, The old grey barn is awesome. Your pics are great as always. How wonderful to have grown up and live in an area with so much history and meaning. The river shot is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with the camera.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Barns! They sure have a way of arousing questions and stories, don't they? This one has a great roofline. And every kid needs a river to play in--it was the Big Sandy for me. It didn't have nearly the twists and turns that yours does.
I love this barn.. It looks like they put metal doors on it? They need to put wood doors on it.. LOL. Playing in the river, how I long for days like that... Loved the photos. Thanks so much for sharing them :)

Love the barn photos ~ full of 'character' and I bet lots of stories ~ Great photography ^_^
Thanks for your comments .
love the photos! I would like to explore the barn .
What a lovely weathered barn. What a nice memory of your childhood with that barn being near the river. Stay warm, Janice
Lovely series of shots! The contrast of the old and new makes for interesting photos.
Fine old barn, love the shape. love the rusted one where you played as a child =)
Looks like a great place to grow up. I have a love affair with old barns...well old buildings in general, actually ;)
awesome barns - wow you found some great ones this week. nice!! ( :
I cannot get enough enjoying pictures of old barns, especially when the wood has that gray patina and a life of its own. Just lovely - thanks for sharing! (visiting from Rurality Blog Hop)

So much wonderful character in these old buildings! What a wonderful area for the imagination of children to run free!
Very rustic rural views...bet you had lots of fun playing in the river. Being a city slicker growing up...we played with the hose n ran through the sprinkler to keep cool during the summer heat.
Wonderful shots of the barns. I remember hanging around a creek when I was young, a favorite spot to cool off. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend!
Thank you for joining in 'Rurality Blog Hop #3' Hope to see you next Wednesday for #4...
Awww...how neat that you have memories of the little stream and actually have pictures of it. Loved the barns too. A very nice post.
