Jenny Lake

I had to look back in my archives to find some watery pictures for Watery Wednesday.  These pictures were taken in October 2008 during my vacation to Jackson Hole and the Grand Teton Mountains in Wyoming.

Who Let the Witches Out

Ok,  I know Halloween is over.  But my friend, Sue, and I went to a table setting luncheon on Saturday.  There were 20 tables settings created either by individuals or groups.  They were all fun and creative.  There were two set up with Halloween decor and I will show those today.

The  title of the first one is

I love the spider napkin ring.

One of the cute witches that got out!

Love what they did to the back of the chairs

The second table was just called Halloween.

The witches

The back of these chairs each had a black mask

We were served a delicious lunch of:
Blueberry Salad
Ham and Broccoli Casserole
Homemade Rolls
Cream Puffs

I am linking this to Marty's 141st Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Through Life.

Next week I will show the Thanksgiving Tables and after that the Christmas Tables.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful week.

Until next time.

What a difference a day makes

Saturday was a gorgeous day with temps getting up to 70.  Saturday night we had a thunderstorm and rain.  Woke up to 20 degrees Sunday morning and we had snow showers last night.  But last Thursday was a beautiful day when I was out and about and came upon this barn and old shed.

Behind the Fence

I had to go out today for a hair cut and since it was such a beautiful day I decided to take a little ride in the country.  I saw this fence.  Nothing great.

But this is what I saw behind it.

And they just kept coming to see what I was up to.

Country Scenes

Here are a few rural mailboxes I've seen on my travels around the countryside.

Yesterday traveling down the highway I noticed this leaning barn off in the distance.  I had never noticed it before.  Maybe because of the trees.  So I drove down someone's driveway to see if I could get a better look.  There was no road past the barn so I took this picture from my car at the end of their driveway.

I thought about walking down to it, but then I saw this deer hunter in blaze orange sitting in a tree stand and I decided maybe I better not.  I might get shot. I think he is looking at me through his binoculars.  Maybe I'll go back some day and ask the owners if I can walk up and take pictures.

The Beauty and the Beast

This beauty has been used as an event center for wedding receptions, family reunions, dances, etc for the last several years.  However the owner is having health issues and it now sits empty.

This beast has been laying here for several years.  But as I drove by the other day it has all been bulldozed down.

The silo is also gone and the land is being prepared for crops.

We see barns of all sizes and shapes, in all conditions in our part of the state.  You can see barns from all over the world by going to Barn Charm at Bluff Area Daily.

Green Plants for Green Day

Remember this plant I showed you last week.  I found out it is a Zulu Wonder.  A South African plant Plectranthus  Ciliatus.
My plant.

My daughter's plant.  Just beginning to bloom

More of my green plants that I am overwintering in the house

Ivy that I pulled out of the my window boxes and planted in this pot.  I'm not sure what is growing in the center.  Weeds I think.  I've pulled them out now.

An asparagus fern

And a mixed planter of Wandering Jew, Ivy and a Spike Plant.

Will see how many of these I can keep alive this winter.

Unique Fence Posts

These photos were taken when I took my friend to his daughter's at Onamia.  They live on an acreage and raise a few cattle.  It was a foggy, drizzly day so the photos aren't the best.  But I wanted to show you the unique fence posts they have.  The area is very rocky so they put the rocks to good use as fence posts and they are huge.
