Next is a visit to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. They have 5 or 6 eagles here that they are helping to recover from injuries. If they feel they are able to return to the wild they let them go. Otherwise they stay there for the rest of their lives.
This Eagle, Harriet, was hit by and car and had a broken wing. She is unable to return to the wild. She is the one pictured on the license plate with an eagle. You can learn more about Harriet and the National Eagle Center Here
Here she is being fed. She is pretty spoiled and is saying "fish again". They get fish almost every day, but they know that sometimes they get other things that they love, like rats.
Up close and personal. Who is giving who the Eagle eye here?
Here is the bridge that goes across the Mississippi River from Wabasha to Nelson, WI
The other side of the bridge later in the day.
We ate dinner at Slipperys Restaurant near the bridge. It is where the movie Grumpy Old Men was filmed
I will be joining these memes this week.
Thanks for stopping by. I will be having a little giveaway soon so be sure to stop back to check it out.
Until next time,
Barb

Very nice photos! We visited a wildlife rehab center last weekend and got to see some of the birds that had been injured by cars, etc...and even got to see surgery being performed on a turkey vulture! Wonderful sunrise photos too!

Harriet is a beauty & I'm glad she's ok now, after the accident, but what a shame she can't fly in the wild anymore... then again, I'm glad she's being taken care of, too.
I slammed on the brakes this morning on my way to work to keep from hitting a dove... =0
Beautiful sunset images! =)
I especially like the colours in the first few photos but also got a kick out of the restaurant picture. It was such a funny movie.

Love the beautiful pastel colors in the sunrise photos! I would be worried standing that close to an eagle...you're brave!! Yes, they do love rats; they hunt them in our fields in the spring.
