Live a Long Life but Don't Grow Old

That is my mother's motto.  She is 95 years old today and I am so fortunate to still have her!  Isn't she just the cutest. She still lives in her own apartment in an assisted living complex.  She doesn't do any cooking or cleaning but is pretty self sufficient.  She gets around well using a walker and her mind is still pretty sharp.  She has a great sense of humor.  She writes in a little journal everyday, mostly entering mundane things like what the meals are, etc.  She keeps her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles, word finds, and emailing,  She doesn't have a computer but has an email machine that she uses to email her sister and my girls.

On Saturday my girls put on a Open House 95th birthday party for her and a 70th birthday party for me.  It was such a fun day with a lot of friends and relatives attending. The girls did a great job of decorating and serving homemade cupcakes and ice cream.   We each got a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  You can see mom's behind her.

Here is a picture of mom and my girls.  The two on the right are twins.

Below is a picture of my family, minus one son-in-law and two grandsons.

This is what brings joy and sunshine to my life.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Live a Long Life but Don't Grow Old

Until Next Time
