Snake River, WY

These photos were taken during my vacation in Wyoming in 2008.  The first one is of a dead tree reflected in the Snake River which runs near the Teton Mountains

This second one is of the reflection of the mountains in the river.

Beauty of a Barn

It was a very busy Thanksgiving and weekend.  I was on the go for 4 days and today I am trying to catch up and rest up.  Sorry I haven't gotten around to visit much but will try to catch up in the next few days.

This beauty of a barn is located on a farm site and has been in the same family for about 100 years.  The family that lives here does not farm the land but they do a beautiful job of keeping up the place.

These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago.  I love the shadows of the trees on the side of the barn and the silo.

Table Setting Luncheon #2

Here are 3 of the tables that were set for Thanksgiving at the luncheon I attended.  The first one is called An Irish Heritage.   It looks very appropriate for a Thanksgiving Tablescape.

I love the pine cones and fruit in the lanterns

They used burlap and wheat on the back of the chairs.

The next table is called Season of Grace.
Lots of purple in this one

The centerpiece was a beautiful tiered fruit plate.

The backs of the chairs were covered with green mesh and a dried hydrangea

This last table was called Let Us Give Thanks and it was the table my friend
Sue and I sat at.

The centerpiece was a beautiful fall bouquet.  You can't see
but the plates, cups and sauces had a wheat design around the edges.
The gal that did the table has about 20 sets of dishes.  She said she and her husband
use them all.  I said the hardest part of fixing dinner must be deciding which dishes to use.

This last picture is a little hard to recognize.  It is of the top of the back
of the chair.  Sitting on the chair is a gift basket that each of us
received.  In it are tea bags, hot chocolate packets,
and a jar of homemade pumpkin bread mix.

I hope you got some inspiration for your Thanksgiving tables by seeing these.  Next I will show the Christmas tables.

Green Fairways, Putting Greens, and Barn

Saturday, November 17th it was 60 degrees in SW Minnesota and I caught these guys out golfing.  Look at how green it is.  Many times there is snow here by this time.  If not, usually everything is brown.

After taking their picture, I headed down a side road that I haven't been on before.  And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a green barn!  I've never seen a green barn before.

I'll be linking these to Barn Charm 112 and Green Day.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful week!

Blaze Orange

This is a picture of my youngest grandson with the big buck he shot.  He loves hunting. The photo is courtesy of Randy, his mentor and hunting buddy.  Can you tell I'm a proud Grandma.

Ya all have a great weekend.

Behind the Fence

I'm still posting photos from my back roads trip last week.  These pictures aren't the best as there was so much underbrush, but I'll show them anyway.

A pasture full of goats.  This one is curious as to what I was doing.

Abandoned Farm Place

On my back roads tour last week I found this abandoned farm place.  Once upon a time I'm sure it was a well loved place.  Oh, the stories it could tell.  I really hate seeing this places going to ruin, but they do provide great photo ops.
