Sunlit Sunday

The last two days have been beautiful here in Minnesota.  Sunshine, temps around 70, and no wind.  My daughter came yesterday and brought me some pussy willows from her yard.  She made a nice bouquet for me in my $5 vase I showed you awhile back.

I spent today cleaning out my flower beds and racking leaves from under my bushes.  I can't believe how many leaves there were!  It is great to see the sun shining on my hen and chicks and my iris.  The grass has really turned green.  My neighbor was even out mowing her lawn on the 24th of March.  Unheard of in Minnesota.

I hope you are all having a great weekend with pleasant spring weather!

I'm linking with Karen at My Little Home and Garden for

Until next time

I love the pussy-willow; I remember it in a neighbours back garden in my childhood but it doesn't grow here. Makes for a delightful indoor decoration that's for sure. You are moving into spring while we're started into Autumn now; turning the clocks back next weekend for us

Beautiful arrangements with the pussy willows Barb! We've cut our grass twice already and that too is unheard for March in Maryland. Enjoy your Sunday, Gail

Hi Barb
I think our weather is usually about the same as yours. We use the U of Minnesota as a resource for gardening information.
We've set so many records this spring, haven't we?
I've always loved pussy willows in an arrangement and yours is very pretty. When our girls were younger they'd snap one off and carry it around as a little pet. :-)

Pussy willows! I love them and they look wonderful in your vase. Just yesterday we were travelling in the car and I was telling my husband how I wished I could find some pussy willows to cut down.

I have not seen any in quite a few years. As a child I remember cutting them down every spring. I so miss them. I will just have to enjoy yours.

Wow you are having good weather. Pussy Willow reminds me of my school days with our classroom nature table with glass jars of Pussy Willow.

The arrangement is so pretty! I love pussy willows - a sure sign of Spring! Can you believe this incredible weather we're having? It's as though winter barely passed by this year! I can't wait to start gardening...that is, if I can find a spare moment! :)
Hope you have a wonderful week, Barb!

Barb, your hens and chicks with the iris look so good together. I never thought of planting them together..I like the look and I'm now trying to figure how I can do that. My hens and chicks are in pots..out of reach of the lawn mower,or weed whacker.:)

I love your arrangement! So pretty.
The weather has been very pretty here in MO this spring, we had a really mild winter. Everything is early this year and this is the earliest I can remember mowing. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the beautiful spring days!

Hi Barb,
Our grass is really green, too! It got down to freezing last night, though, and my tulips were laying on the ground, poor things! I hope they bounce back when it warms up. I love pussy willows! They take me back to my childhood, for some reason.
Hugs, Cindy
