Rural Critters

I always like to take the back roads because you never know what you might find.  My cousin and I were doing just that when we went down a dead end road.  Here is what we found.  Looks like they belong in Texas, not Minnesota.

Jesse's Barn

Hi everyone.  I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I'm sorry I didn't get around to everyone's blogs as I was busy at a family reunion at my daughter's.  What a fun time we had.  I will tell more about it and show some pictures another time.  But for today I am showing you the back side of Jesse's barn as I said would for this week's Barn Charm.  You can see the front side of the barn here in my post of the 1894 Barn.

I love these old windows in the barn...

And the flowers next to it.

Here I caught Jesse contemplating his next garden.

I'll show you pictures of the old granary another day.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Until next time,

Jesse's Garden Fences

While I was photographing Jesse's Gardens here, I took some pictures of fences he has around his place.  I am sharing them with    Fridays Fences #39 at Life According to Jan and Jer.

There's the white picket fence of course.

This is the gate to the back yard garden.

The next 3 are fences he has around the entire back garden to keep out the deer and rabbits.   He has the wheels and arches topped off with barbed wire to keep out the deer.  There's other wire at the bottom to keep out the rabbits.

Then there's the old wooden fence for the clematis to climb on.

I'll be sharing more pictures of the barn and granary on Barn Charm next Tuesday.
I hope you all have a great weekend. I am going to my daughter's for a family reunion.  Should be a lot of fun!

See you next time!

Jesse's Gardens

When I posted the 1894 Barn here, I told you that the owner, Jesse, has some great gardens and I would go back and get photos.  Well I did, and here they are, all SOOC.  He has a lot of trees and so has a lot of shade plants.   He also has a lot of garden junk art in the gardens and it is done very tastefully.

These are old lightning rods.

Don't you just love this potting bench with the big old sink.

For Friday Fences I will show you some fences from his gardens.
And I will show you the back side of the barn and the old granary at next weeks Barn Charm.

Barn in a Cornfield

I spotted this barn in the middle of a corn field while on a trip to Mankato.  It is somewhere around New Ulm, MN

Playing around in Pickmonkey.  I don't even remember what edits I used.

The trail

This trail through the green grass and green trees leads to where?  Maybe Ireland, as I am linking it to Fiona's new meme "Green  Day" at Raindrops and Daisys.  Check out what other greens are being linked there.

Thanks for starting the new meme Fiona!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

See you next time.

Friday Fences

You might remember this split rail fence that I posted back in April.

Here's what it looked like last July.  I assume it is looking like this again...covered with wild roses.
