1894 Barn

I first saw this barn in 2009  when the lilacs were blooming.  I happened to drive by it yesterday and stopped and took a few more pictures.

I have gotten to know the owner and have found out a lot of history behind it.  It was built in 1894 by Walter Sweetman who was part of the Irish American Colonization Company.  (Let me know if you want more information on the company).  The owner is keeping it in good repair  and is using it for storage, not for farming.  He  has fantastic gardens with all kinds of interesting junk old things in them.  I will be going out several times this summer to  photograph  his gardens.  While I am there I will get pictures from the other side the barn.

For more barns of all kinds stop over at Bluff Area Daily for Barn Charm

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week.
