Bad Hair Day

This poor white egret was having a bad hair day the day I took her picture in Florida.

Here is another one on a different day whose hair was a little better.  Can anyone tell me why one has a black bill and yellow feet and the other has a yellow bill and black feet?

I am joining Stewart at Wild Bird Wednesday here

Thanks for stopping!  I hope everyone on the East Coast is safe and warm.
Until next time
Barb

Funny! And I love his yellow shoes too!

Barb - I pay good money and spend time with product to make my hair stand up like that first bird!

I think the one with the black bill and yellow feet is a Snowy Egret. And the one with the black feet and yellow bill is a Great Egret. However, I could be wrong about that as I am not a bird expert.
Both beautiful birds- Great photos!

Great pictures and lovely commentary.

The feet-bill colour thing is because they are from opposite sides of the political divide.... or more likely for some other completely different reason....

Thanks for this lovely post.

Have a nice day.

They sure are pretty birds, bad hair days or looking polished. :)
Good observations on the difference in coloring!

The first one has party hair ...so I bet the stockings and shoes and even her beak are party things too....

I especially like the bad hair day but it must have been a thrill to get both of those shots!

She was probably so upset about her hair, she put on the wrong shoes. Whatever, they are great shots.

They're both grand shots Barb, although the first one looks terribly disgruntled!

LOL! That's awesome! Beautiful shots!

I'd go with the two species idea - but even on a bad hair day the first one looks good!

When I see photos of Florida's egrets I wonder why they don't appear to be as shy as the ones who spend their summers here in Canada. :) Very nice photos, Barb!
