While the sun was still shining I took a couple pictures of my Sunkist Arborvitae, which was a freebie about 3 years ago. My daughter knew someone that worked at a nursery and they were going to throw it in the trash at the end of the season. It seems to thrive where I planted it next to the front door.
A little robin seemed to be enjoying the sun too.
This picture of the yellow finch isn't very good. But I was just happy to get a picture. I took it through the screen of my kitchen window and the feeder is way out in the back yard.
By the time I walked across the street to photograph my neighbors tree it was cloudy. I'm not sure what kind of tree it is, but it sure is pretty.
I hope you had a sunshiny day. I know there are storms across OK, KS NE, and IA. I hope everyone is safe.

Hello, Barb
The shrub is lucky to have made it to your home, it looks so healthy. As for birds, I'll try to catch a photo of finches this year but it would be a first. The little things haven't seen fit to pose for me while I run for a camera. Finally, that tree is a stunner. Thank for linking these spring delights to Sunlit Sunday.

we've got bits of the bad weather moving in here, in NE Tx, too. but i think Ok and Ks are gonna get the worst... i hope the night is non-violent for most!
you've got some beautiful spring around you!
I like those bushes and wish I had a spot for some. And that tree is beautiful!
Your Sunkist Arborvitae has done very well! The tree is gorgeous, too!
Thank for sharing your pretties. It is so great to see these lovelies coming around. Thanks for your visit.

Calling by as another Sunlit Sunday participant, lovely sunny photos.
That flowering tree is amazing! I'll bet it smells heavenly. I love arborvitae. My grandma had 2 massive ones outside her backdoor, and the 2 of them together created a cave-like space in between where we'd play. I've always loved arborvitae ever since.
Lovely photos today. It is a dull day here so it is nice to see some sunny shots.
What a beautiful robin!!! Even looks regal! Have a wonderful day! Cathy
How great to save a plant. I often buy reduced priced plants from our local garden centre and fill a great sense of joy if I manage to nurse it back to health.
Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing Joann
Beautiful shots!
Your Sunkist Arborvitae is looking great and the tree is beautiful.
Wish you a wonderful week ahead.

The arborvitae is gorgeous!
How nice that the Arborvitae is so happy with you...you loved it when no one else did! And I could eat that tree up...it's blossoms are so sweet and beautiful! I just love spring! Very nice shots of the birds as well.
It's a rainy day here ...so nice to come by and soak up the beauty of your lovely photos.
Wishing you a beautiful week, Barb. xo
Lovely photos, Barb...and I love the flower photos in your header, too!
Loving your arborvitae success story! And I believe the tree is a crabapple. Beautiful!
Hi Barb,
Your Sunkist Arborvitae sure is thriving. I very much enjoyed seeing the pictures of your feathered friends. The spring blossoms are just gorgeous!
You have some lovely photos, Barb. Love that beautiful flowering tree! Hope you get the needed rain, but no storms!
Hi,Barb.

Hi Barb, having fun catching up on your posts. Lovely bird pics.
We had Arborvitae bushes in our yard in Ohio years ago. They grow big and beautiful. Hope the storms take a break!! LOL
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Very nice blog and photos, but an FYI: SunKist arb is destined to reach a height of 10' by 6' wide or more. Yes, you can keep it contained for awhile in the spot you have it, but will need to shear it three times per season. One other point, since you mentioned you had a nice, sunny day to shoot the picture...shoot your photos on cloudy days or in very early morning sunlight, this makes for much better garden and plant pictures.
