Abandoned Barns

A couple of weeks ago on a cloudy, dreary day I had to run an errand in a nearby townWhile I was there I decided to take a little drive and see what I could find.  On the edge of town I found this old abandoned barn and house.

I drove out of town a couple of miles and found this old tumbling down barn with a shed that was already on the ground.

These are my barn pics for this weeks Barn Charm.  You can see barns of all sizes, shapes, colors, and conditions here.

Barn Charm

Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Until next time,

Barb

I love the old paint choices, red and yellow!! They were way ahead of their time.

That's a sweet old house and more great old barns! I can picture that house freshly painted and window window boxes overflowing with flowers. Makes you wonder who lived there, doesn't it? Great post, Barb.

These are great, but that last one looks like a gust of wind would take it down! Nice shots!

The old abandoned houses and barns are so interesting to me, I always wonder about the family that once lived there. These buildings have been around a long time!

you got some lovely pics there Barb; the third one actually looks like an old house. Good to get extra value from your journey by taking your camera along with you

Doesn't it just make you wonder what memories those barns and that house have - - - what stories could they tell us?

I LOVE that water trough in front of the first barn.

I see old run down, abandoned places like that & wonder what happened to the owners... did they pass away & leave the place to their children who just don't know what to do w/ the property, so they leave it to fall down? That's the only explanation I can come up w/, because how can anyone afford to leave their home & have the money to buy another place to live?

Great finds, Barb, & thanks so much for joining =)

Barb...All of there could be seen multiple times in my county. I love that you showed us the different shots. They are all so nice. I am trying to figure out in my mind the yellowish paint. We have several abandoned houses here that have bits and pieces of yellow. I am wondering if there was a kind of lead paint used back years ago that actually faded out as yellow. I know, I am crazy :-) genie

The last one looks like it's in the process of falling down as you shot the photo--I think you got the shot just in time!

You really have a great eye for old buildings. Did you ever think of printing and selling your photos? Maybe you already have, lol.
