My first time ever

Spotting a  Great Blue Heron.  Seen at a rookery in Venice, FL heading for his nest.

Head down in the nest.  He's either helping build the nest or feeding a baby.

Posing for me.

Sharing with Wild Bird Wednesday

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week
See you next time
Barb

I'm amazed, too, that you haven't seen one in Minnesota! But maybe they aren't much for dwelling in your part of the state. We see them often around lakes and ponds up north, I've always loved them. But I don't believe I've ever photographed one.. These are GREAT SHOTS!!

For years we had one fly in towards dusk at our dock here in Michigan to feed on the smaller fish in the water. This past Summer we did not see it. They are beautiful! Janice
