Grandma Barb’s This and That

Monday, January 9, 2012

In my last post I showed you this picture of an antique table and said I would tell you about it in my next post.

I have always loved these antique tables and wished I had one.  A couple of months ago I was helping my friend move to an assisted living apartment.  He didn't have room for all his things and his family asked me if I would like it.  Like it!  I would love it!  So after I took down my Christmas tree I place it in front of the window.  For now I put a lighted winter bouquette on it.  It will be so fun to decorate it with seasonal vignettes.

Just look at those beautiful legs!

It fits right in with my antique chair and desk.

I'm loving the looks of my living room.  It feels so warm and comfortable both in the sunlight and with the soft glow of evening lights.

I was fortune to receive more antiques from my friend and will show those in a later post.

This week I will be partying at:
Open House Party  at No Minimalist Here
2805 for Potpourri Friday
Miss Mustard Seed for Furniture Feature Friday

I really like your table. I've seen similar styles here and there over the years and have always thought they would serve such a range of purposes. Maybe I'll have one of my own, one day! It will be nice to see the rest of your new/old things! As for your living room, isn't it great to have a place that you love!

Love the table, I am always looking at them at estate sales. I also love the arrangement. Anything with lights in it attracts my eye.

Hi Barb, How wonderful to help a friend move and then be presented with a keepsake table like this. It is gorgeous and fits right in like it should be there. I love the gorgeous design. Your room is so inviting and comfy looking. Love the lighted bouquet you are displaying at the moment.
You are going to have fun doing vignettes and tablescapes throughout the seasons.

Have a great weekend,
Hugs, CM

What a lovely friend! He knows you will take good care of his things! BTW--- I am having SUCH a hard time logging onto others' sites to comment! The screen keeps turning white and freezing! Am I the only one out here who this is happening to? BLOGGER is not my friend today. andrea@townandprairie
