Harvesting

I thought today would be a good day to harvest my hydrangeas.  I found this old rusty thingy on the curb.  I guess it is used for hanging bird feeders on.  But I thought it could have other uses too, like hanging pots or for drying my hydrangeas.

So I got busy and cut the nicest, biggest blooms.  I tied 4 together in a bunch and did 5 bunches.

Don't you just love this old string holder.

And here they are hanging in all their glory

I bet you can't guess what I'm doing here.

I'm harvesting moss.  I have a lot of moss growing on the north side of my garage.  Last year I cut some and used in flower arrangements and on top of  the soil in potted plants.

And here is my crop this year.

I hope you are all having a good week.  Until next time.

Ooooo the moss idea is neat! I wish I was as good with indoors plant life as I am with outdoor plants. Is that old hook from a purple martin bird house set? andrea @ townandprairie

I'm loving your hydrangea tree. Makes a beautiful feature by itself.

I'm all for drying hydrangeas! Don't you love the fresh green colour, particularly when it's all wintry outside!
